Hewlett Packard (HPE) Q4 Earnings Beat Estimates

In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2023, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) disclosed non-GAAP earnings of 52 cents per share, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 4%.

Although this figure marked a 9% decrease from the corresponding period last year, it demonstrated a 6% sequential increase. The reported bottom line also landed at the upper end of the management’s guidance range of 48-52 cents per share.

Revenues for the quarter amounted to $7.35 billion, reflecting a 7% decline (6% at constant currency) from the prior-year quarter but a 5% sequential increase. The top line aligned with the Zacks Consensus Estimate and fell within the midpoint of management’s projected range of $7.2-$7.5 billion. The annualized revenue run rate exhibited an impressive 39% year-over-year growth, reaching $1.3 billion.

Despite facing challenges such as inflationary pressures, macroeconomic headwinds, and geopolitical issues, Hewlett Packard experienced sustained demand for its products and services throughout the quarter. The company’s ability to deliver stronger-than-expected earnings and meet revenue expectations was notable.

The positive performance in key areas, particularly the Intelligent Edge, which approached quarterly records, and HPE GreenLake, marked by a strategic pivot contributing to increased recurring revenues and gross profit across four product segments, played a significant role in driving the overall revenue growth. This was attributed to the heightened mix of high-margin software and services.
